Do Dogz die?

  • Dogz are living creatures that respond to interaction with their owners. Like the more common non-computer variety, Dogz will age and grow over time. We really don't know if they die, but it appears that as long as they are happy, they are healthy.
Is my Dogz going to be the same as anyone else's?
  • No, your Dogz is your very own special pet, with its own unique personality, which changes over time through interaction with you.
  • You can choose among several breeds, including a terrier, bull dog, scotty, setter or chihuahua.
  • You can "groom" your Dogz by choosing the color you want.
What can I do with my Dogz?
  • Dogz crave direct interaction, they love to be petted and picked up. They also love to eat, drink and be merry!
  • You control your Dogz. You can play with it over the full screen whenever you feel like playing.
  • Or, you can keep it in its "Play Pen" if you want to it to keep you company while you are working. Of course, you can always send him away if you're too busy.
How do I train my Dogz to do tricks?
  • When you want to train your Dogz to do tricks, like rolling over or doing back flips, reinforce good behaviors by giving your Dogz treats, or punish them for naughty behaviors by giving them a playful squirt of the water bottle. Over time your Dogz will learn what you want them to do.
  • Dogz will also beg and can be trained to perform tricks for their food.
What kind of games can I play with my Dogz?
  • You can play some traditional non-computer dog games like fetch, tug-o-war, and keep away.
What are "Guard Dogz?"
  • Dogz can act as "GuardDogz", protecting your computer screen against "burn-in" while you are away from your computer.
  • Guard Dogz also keep your valuable desktop information safe from unwanted intruders through password protection.
How can I adopt Dogz?
  • Dogz could be adopted through retail outlets beginning in November 1995.
  • Dogz were also available to "sample" through distributed samples at retail stores, or by downloading adoption kits through PF. Magic's Dogz Web site.
  • Dogz owners are able to share puppies with their friends, loved ones and co-workers, by giving them Adoption Kits.
  • Nowadays you can download demos from various places online, specifically at Daniel's site or Minibyte's Petz Archive (Game files section)
