In our example we've been working with the Black and White shorthair cat, whose AC name is Pouncer and 2-letter mnemonic is BW. We want to change the AC name to Bember and the mnemonic to XW. First off, get to the name Pouncer under BMP, and click on it to make it editable:

Type in Bember. Now go down all the other sections in the same way -- LNZ, SCP, TXT, and click on each BW to make it editable, and type in XW instead:

While you're about it, when you get to the "BEVENT" one, if your breedfile is Petz 3 or Petz 4 you can edit the text in the right-hand pane to say what you want -- it's the on-screen tips for when your pet comes out of the AC. Don't edit more than just the text -- leave all the stuff from X onwards. In Petz 5 breedz all you'll see is a 3-digit number here; all you can do with that is make no tips appear, by changing that number to spaces or words.

I'd Save at this point if I were you. Okay, now go down to the String list, 63, where you changed your breed name before:

Click on Pouncer in the right-hand pane to make it editable, and change it to Bember, then on Bw and change it to Xw. Now go down to RCData and change Pouncer to Bember in the same way.

Save again. Now you've got to change a few pointers inside the LNZ sections. Don't panic -- just open the LNZ section by clicking on the cross beside it, and place your cursor on XW.

In the right-hand pane, choose Find from the Tools menu. Type bw into the box and, for each instance of bw that it finds, change that to xw.

Click on XWKIT under LNZ in the right-hand pane, and go through the same process for changing all the instances of bw to xw within that one also. Save.

Now comes a very important part. For all this to work right, you must convert your breed to Unibreed. It's very simple, just choose "Convert to Unibreed" from LNZPro's File menu

Follow the instructions in the Breed Conversion Wizard that pops up.

Your breed now has its own individual mnemonics and AC name, and should work in all Catz 3, Catz 4, and Catz 5 games. Of course if you were making a dog breed, it would work in the Dogz games instead.
