Playscene fixing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all, of course, you need to make your playscene look different. You can change the backdrop (and icon) using LNZPro as I show elsewhere, and you can change the filmstrips using Tinker. Now you want to rename it and make it show up separately.
Okay, I'll take a scene based on the Family Room, but they all work in basically the same way. To make it non-overwriting, you need to choose an ID number for it which is different from the ID numbers in all the other scenes. Some ID numbers don't please the game, but for your first effort try something like hex 0840. You must also change the "tag" from 5 to 1 -- so it will look like this
Also you can see that I've changed the Display Name to ForestRoom too. If you do those things, the scene will show up in the scene drop-down list just as my Secret Wood does. That's all that you actually need to do.
If you have some things that look wrong when the scene is non-overwriting, you'll need to do a little more:
You may find that things such as the mouseholes which perhaps you have edited in Tinker look wrong if you only do that, so a more complete way of dealing with the file needs more to be changed in LNZPro, plus some small changes using a hex editor. This is what would need to be changed in LNZPro -- I made it simple by just changing one letter in the sprite etc names
But then you also need to change some stuff with a hex editor. In the section which starts with DXDownload, change all instances of FamilyRoom to the same name as the sprites were changed to in LNZPro -- if you do it as I did in the pic above, then change Familyroom to GamilyRoom. You can see the letters which were changed in red in these pics:
And that's it! You will find that the fire -- or any other animation which you've created instead of the fire -- will be switched on if you have the family room fire on, and vice versa, but there's no harm in that... it's just the way things are :-)
